War] STEPHEN Mayfield [b: abt 1758 Mecklinburg, NC d: 1846 Bolinger Co., MO] SAMUEL Mayfield [b: 23 May 1759, Granville Co., NC; d: 15 May 1838, Tuscaloosa, AL] I have a copy of Samuel's U.S. Revolutionary War Pension Summary Sheet. He served first when he was 17 years old, was a Private and in the "Siege of Savannah" and the "Siege of Ninety-Six," and fought many other times against the Tories. His pension application was made in 1832, and issued 1833 in Alabama. It says: "He moved when a ‘small boy' with his father to Union Co., SC and resided there and in Fairfield Co., SC during service. After the War he returned to Union Co. SC and resided there until about October in 1824 when he moved to Tuscaloo Co., Alabama, and where he was still residing in 1832 when he applied for a pension."
