Generation 11:
It is said that Reddi Bazemore was in Scotland, or possibly France and that he had a son, John Bazemore. It's said that the original spelling of the surname was Baize, and that the original family was a maker of cloth.

Generation 10:
John Bazemore settled in Bertie Co., NC by 1738. His will was probatedin 1789. He is buried in Windsor, North Carolina.

Jesse Bazemore--m: Frances ---?---. Jesse signed an oath of allegiance to NC in 1776 along with his father and brothers.

Thomas Bazemore [b: 6 Mar 1745; d: 23 Jan 1837]--m: Sara Stores(row) [b: 1782, d: 7 Apr 1842] Thomas moved from NC to SC about 1785, then to Jones Co., GA about 1805. His will was recorded in Parts A & B, Book of Wills [pp. 234-244] in Jones Co. GA, and he is buried in that county. His children were:

Will of John Bazemore, Bertie Co., NC
In the name of God. Amen. I John Bazemore Sen. being weak in Body but perfect mind and memory and knowing that it is appointed for all men to die, I make and ordain this my last will and testament, First Resign my soul to Him that gave it not doubting but I shall Receive the same at the general Resurrection and my body to be decently buried by the discretions of my executors and as to my wordly goods that it hath Blessed God to bless me with I give and disposed of as Follows:

Item--I give and bequeth unto my loving son Jessie Bazemore one negro girl named Silva to him and his assigns forever-
Item--I give and bequeth to my son Thomas Bazemore one negro fellow named Cats to him his heirs and assigns forever-
Item--I give and bequeth to my son James Bazemore one fellow named Bob and like wise the land whereon he now lives to him his heirs and assigns forever-
Item--I give and bequeth unto my son William Bazemore the Mannor Plantation whereon I now live and also Five negros named as follows, Tike, Selah, George, Emma and Nancy to him his heirs and assigns forever also all my cattle hogs and household furniture sheep if any to be found and he also to settle all must just debts and receive all my just demands from every person whatsoever-
Item--I give and bequeth unto my loving daughter Tames Lowell, wife to Frances Lowell one negro wench named Cate to have after my deceased to her and her heirs and assigns forever-
Item--I lend unto my son in law Isiah Thomas husband to my daughter Sarah Thomas deceased one negro wench named Nancy that is now living with him for the term of his natural life and after his death to be divided she and her increase among my five grand children to be Micheal, Thomas, Jordan Thomas, Isiah Thomas, Elizabeth Thomas, and Sarah Thomas to them their heirs and assigns forever-
Item--I give and bequeth unto my loving daughter Elizabeth White wife of William White, one negro girl named Rose which she has got with her at present to her and her heirs forever-

And lastly I constitute and appoint for my Executors Jessie Bazemore, William Bazemore and Francis Pugh to this my last will and testament, Hereby Revoking and Disannulling all other former wills by me made Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament in witness where of I have set my hand and seal this tenth day of July one thousand seven hundred and Eighty nine.
