I am a new woman pastor in waiting for the Methodist Church. Once soure which has serve me very well with one of my difficult problems, forgiveness is a little book by Emmett Fox..."The Sermon on the Mount" which includes the Lord's Prayer commentary. It is in the seciont "Forgive us as we forgive"...the the gems of wisdom are present.

At the present time my only daughter and her husband has decided we can not bring our only grandchildren from Texas to Mississippi because of her Father's history of drinking. This is an issue the issue is that she thinks he needs to deal with why he drinks. I made the mistake of telling her of an instance one of about 3 in our whole married life of 43 years. Now until her father confesses he is powerless, remorseful, and makes amends we are deprived of our grandchildren.

He has never drunk when the children were here. He plays with them night and day...takes them fishing...ice skating...romps...

Things are not always perfect between us....Yet, we reared four very successful children who are independent and self sufficient and unabused.

My son-in-law is a recovering alcholic and a manic depressive so I guess she may have his actions mixed up with her husbands.

To make a very long story short. We are extremely fit grandparents who love and adore our grandchildren.

I am having a hard time forgiving this seeminly venegeful punishment.
