I'm sorry for your situation. Generally speaking, I believe it can be possible to trust again. But, to get to that point takes a lot of work on the part of both partners. Both have to be sincere and want their marriage to work. One person can not keep the marriage together, by him/herself alone.
You might wish to look at message #38, which I wrote on this board on 1/13/98--along with other messages relative to adultery.
As I see it, the Christian faith is basically about love, reconciliation, forgiveness, second chances, and hope for the future. In a relationship there may come a time when one really should walk away, in order to maintain one's own sense of dignity, self-respect, and well-being. But short of that point, I think we are called to try to work things out, seeking God's help in the process.
